Gobble, Gobble, Run Run

Route: Med Vegas – Indian Hill (way steeper than Heartbreak!)
Mileage: 4
Time: 38:34
Best Song: Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting by Elton John (There’s way more Elton where that came from.)

Tonight’s run was dark, cold and rainy. But, it was nice to hoof a new path (or an old one, as it turns out). I was just storing up the miles in anticipation of extra mashed potato helpings!

Route: Med Vegas – Snyder, Stagecoach, South St. loop
Mileage: 5.25
Time: 50:08
Best Song: This Love by Maroon 5 (Kanye West remix – bonus track on Songs About Jane)

Nice Things:
1. A Willing Companion.
Colleen ran the first 2 with me – and did well – in preparation for her big trek up Heartbreak. She’s running with me from the bottom of Comm Ave to the FINISH LINE!

2. Pleasant Weather.
63 degrees. And sunny. IN NOVEMBER. Holy crap. God bless global warming.

3. Friendly Faces
The people in Newton are pleasant enough, but sometimes after you’ve been running for over an hour, you need a little more than a weak head nod. Not in my hometown. Those Medfield people are DANG nice. It’s not just, “Hey,” it’s, “Good morning. How are you? Nice day for a run. You go girl.” Nice.

Big news! New shoes! I got a nice discount at Marathon Sports because I’m running for a charity. Thanks, guys.

And … they’re pink. Oh yeah.
